Leiston has a new councillor – Joanna Atherton and a new Live Well Hub Manager, Briony Peall. The hub provides a welcoming environment where people can connect with others, access support and enjoy activities. Maintaining our mental health and wellbeing is so important and the council clearly recognises this. With the festive season approaching, the added pressures can be a challenging time for some. We must take care of our minds, just as we do our physical wellbeing.
Huge contratulations to Cllr Lesley Hill who has won ‘Suffolk Community Award Councillor of the Year’ for outstanding service to the communtuty. Lesley will go on to represent Leiston-cum- Sizewell at the National Awards. I’m sure we all wish her well.
Please get in touch if you have anything to share with our readers or if you have an event coming up why not consider increasing your footfall by placing an advert in the Tide Collection?
Several local organisations have recently benefitted from the Sizewell C Community Fund – ABC Radio, Alde Valley Suffolk Family History Group, Leiston Book Festival, Leiston-cum- Sizewell Town Council, The Long Shop Museum and Suffolk Football Association. All will benefit our community and maybe go some way to easing the pain of waiting at traffic lights?
