June Edition

I ventured over to Woodbridge on Sunday to watch the 10K race for the first time. Men, women and children of all ages and abilities giving it their all and spurred on by an impressive crowd who cheered them on. It was lovely to see and some of the children seemed so small! We stood outside the Bull Hotel and I’m sure I couldn’t have made that hill. Well done to all who took part – I am in awe of your efforts! To cap it all, over £15000 was raised for local charities, thanks to local sponsors. Well done to the Woodbridge Shufflers for organising this excellent community event.

May Edition

200 years of Civil Rights will be celebrated in Woodbridge this month and through to June. It is not widely known that two renowned anti-slavery and peace campaigners – Thomas and John Clarkson, lived in Woodbridge and nearby Playford. This new festival will celebrate the legacy of the Clarksons with a star-studded line-up at St Mary’s Church (where John Clarkson in buried), as well as further music, art and family events. For more details of what sounds like great entertainment please see page 9.

April Edition

I’m sure the community will once again come together for the annual Easter Egg Hunt in Tide Mill Way and there is good news from the council regarding 15 Tide Mill Way which has been sold and will now host the ‘Art Haven Community Interest Company’, a project which will bring more creative experiences into the heart of Woodbridge.

New Street Market’s ‘Green Month’ will bring a variety of events throughout April, featuring art, music, education, and sustainable gastronomy!
