2000 of these magazines are printed per month. 1500 are delivered door to door and the remaining 500 are distributed between outlets, eateries and local businesses. Download the latest edition of Southwold Organ below.
I recently spent a weekend in Southwold with friends, possibly the stormiest few days of the year! It blew away the cobwebs though and we enjoyed a few walks, good food, welcoming shops and tempestuous seas! (The only drawback a few canine pavement deposits!). We should probably try February or after in future to catch the excellent entertainment at the Arts Centre. See page 7 for details of the many varied acts coming up this month. Something for everyone!
What a support the Old Hospital Hub is proving to be to the local community. From the pay-it-forward scheme, Family Tea Club (which includes trips out for children) to the new plans for the allotment and Community Fitness Centre. Well done to all the volunteers and supporters of this great community asset.
Southwold recently had a reassuring visit from members of Suffolk Constabulary, a great way to engage with local residents. Sadly, many crimes come via telephone or computer with various scams. Citizens advice have some very good tips and advice on page 21. From my many years working for a high street bank I know the negative impact these crimes have, especially psychologically. Please don’t feel embarrassed if you have been caught out, it’s not your fault – these people’s tactics are very sophisticated. They prey on the vulnerable and seem to lack a conscience so be sure to report any worries you may have!
