September Edition
An eventful September for Halesworth – Halesworth to Southwold Narrow Gauge Railway are holding an Open Day which will include a Model Railway Show and is free, as are the refreshments! The end of September brings Climate Action Energy weekend with three days of very informative events of benefit to all I’m sure.
Halesworth’s first ever Ale Day proved to be a great success with locals and visitors alike enjoyiing events all over town, another great community get-together which I’m sure will be repeated. More entertainment is coming with the return of ‘Akenfield’ – a stage production, Bungay Folk Festival a few miles down the road and Hubfest Music Festival at Huntingfield to name a few. Enjoy!
Halesworth Air Museum marked the 80th anniversary of VE Day by serving creams teas and in early June they welcomed the co-author of ‘Into the Cold Blue’. The other author is 101 year old John Homan who flew 34 missions in his time at Halesworth and he was able to chat with museum staff on the phone. What a fitting way to mark VE80, speaking to the only surviving veteran from 489th Bomb Group.
